Legion aces all the right stuff: plot development, the "what now" factor, character likability.<br/><br/>I admit I am not as familiar with the X-Men story line as I am with some others. So, the first episode was totally perplexing to me but still held my interest. By episode 3, I was firmly ensconced for the long haul and admittedly disappointed to find only 8 episodes for the season.<br/><br/>It's my hope that a Season 2 is on the horizon. However, the last episode is satisfying enough even if there's only one season. <br/><br/>'Nuff said! Usually, TV series based on comics do not spend much time just goofing around the plot, which seems to be a distinctive characteristic of this show. It is like it's saying to you, just chill, don't expect a straightforward exposition, don't take every scene as having some kind of meaning. Legion is about psychic mutant with some serious mental issues, whose deluded sense of reality could rival his own incredible power. With that in mind (pun intended) it seems that not everything can or will be explained in a rational manner, as you would've expect it to be in practically every other TV series. It is a part of the charm, you can't really create a genuine show about mentally unstable protagonist, without immersing in his worldview. It might be bothersome that plot is clearly having it's time, and you wonder whether all of this will end in a satisfying manner. And now almost halfway through the first season, my preliminary conclusion is that we as a viewers should not treat this eccentric install as we would most of the other shows. I don't know how it will go from here and what to expect next, but it seems that the best bet with this series, it's to not have any expectations at all.<br/><br/>I can see how it can be not for everyone, with feeling that sometimes it's just goes with style over substance, But for me this is on of the main reasons why i eagerly await and then gleefully submerge in every episode. I fear that it can fall victim of it's own uniqueness, with that not being able to attract it's anticipated audience, and producers will decide to cut the budget, or shutdown it entirely. Sincerely hope this will not happen, this show is a breath of fresh air, with it's colourful 70's esque new age vibe, with shades of modern, covert military dystopia.
